INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Equine Hospital of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia offers internship programs for recently graduated veterinarians that are citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. GCC countries include the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, State of Qatar, and State of Kuwait.

Our internship programs focus on giving clinical training to recent graduates, aiming to develop their knowledge and clinical skills to identify and solve medical problems. Interns also learn to communicate with clients through a direct approach. Our 2024 programs will run from January 1st to December 31st.

Hospital Internship

This internship consists of a one-year full-time rotating internship at the hospital. Interns rotate on a biweekly basis through internal medicine, critical care and emergency, sports medicine, surgery, anesthesia, and diagnostic imaging. Senior and specialist practitioners directly supervise interns.

Ambulatory Internship

This internship consists of a one-year full-time internship within the ambulatory department of The Equine Hospital. Interns will collaborate primarily with a senior ambulatory veterinarian. This is a role that focuses mostly on orthopedics and primary care cases. Interns will be requested to work in other off-site clinics (such as Taif and Al Ula).

Prerequisites

  • Must be a graduate of a college of Veterinary Medicine by December 2023.
  • Must be a citizen of the GCC countries.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.

Application Process

Applications for our 2024 programs are accepted from October 5th to October 31st, 2023. Applications that do not include all the documents required will not be considered. Please state which internship you are applying for in your application email. There will be a preselection of candidates for an interview, which will be held in English.
